So, I’m always on the look out for women of color (or “It” chicks) out in the world trying to make it a better place, working hard, and just overall being fabulous; so I was especially happy with my decision to get up yesterday morning and watch “The Today Show.”
Dr. Dara P. Richardson-Heron is the CEO of the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Greater NYC. She was interviewed by Al Roker because on Sunday, September 13th at 9 a.m., the 5K Run/Walk Race for the Cure will take place. During the interview she seemed very chic (her pearl necklace and earring helped *love*), confident, and smart with a little sense of humor to tie it all together. So, of course I had to get my google on!
Dr. Richardson-Heron was formerly a chief medical officer and assistant executive director of United Cerebal Palsy of New York. She holds a “bachelors degree in biology from Barnard College, a doctorate of medicine from New York University School of Medicine, medical review officer certification from the American College of Occupational Medicine and a human resources management certificate from the University of Michigan.” (1) *take that* She also was voted in the 25 Influential Black Women in Business Class of 2004. You can check out more information on Dr. Richardson-Heron here or better yet, if you can, make a donation on the Komen NYC website. Video of “The Today Show” interview posted below…
