Abercrombie & Fitch and Beyonce Knowles may be headed to court soon in a trademark dispute over perfume. A&F are claiming that Beyonce’s upcoming line of “Sasha Fierce” products, including a perfume by the same name, is a knockoff of their product simply called “Fierce.” *blink, blink*
According to TMZ Beyonce’s rep, Alan Nierob issued the following statment…
“There is no fragrance line directly or indirectly associated with Beyonce that has the name ‘Sasha Fierce’ or anything using the word ‘Fierce.’”
Coty Inc., the company to be releasing this perfume, also put out a statement…
“Coty is excited about its newly announced partnership with Beyonce Knowles. Details related to the fragrance, including the official name, will be revealed prior to the launch in early 2010. We can confirm at this time, however, that the terms Fierce and Sasha Fierce are not being used as names of a Beyonce fragrance.”
Sounds messy….fierce and sasha fierce…..yea I think A&F are reeeeeeeaaaaaacccchhhhiiiinnnnnggg with this one! Thoughts?
