Oprah showing Tyra why she’s the Queen of Media – Oprah’s “Hair” Show with Chris Rock & Solange

On Wednesday, Oprah did her own hair show, which not only squashed Tyra’s show, but even Oprah’s real hair squashed Tyra’s real hair. Chris even weave checked her haha!

Ok, from the beginning…Oprah had Chris on the show to promote his docu-comedy “Good Hair.” What I liked most about all of this was that it not only showed the lengths that black woman will go through for their hair, BUT they also showed the lengths that white woman go through as well. Chris even stated how all of the white women in the audience were blonde but NONE of them were natural blondes. Oprah stated the facts that the hair dye business is a 14 BILLION dollar business. I was sitting there watching the TV like…”yea call them out too…” lol.

She then had Solange on to talk about why she cut all her hair off and went natural. Solange looked ABSOLUTELY beautiful and she never NEVER needs to think about putting another piece of weave in her hair. Her bone structure is just FABULOUS!!

Overall, it was a great episode…different from Tyra, who for some reason loves to deal with ’self-hating’ black women…*rollseyes* ~~maybe because she is one herself.~~

Oprah Interviews Jay Z and Learns to Rap

Ok, so I posted last week about Jay Z on the Oprah show and what Oprah had to say about him. So, yesterday the show finally aired and I must say…I was really impressed. Jay is extremely articulate and charming, and of course Oprah (despite her touchy/feeliness) knows how to give a good interview. They discussed everything from Marcy Projects to Beyonce and even agreed to disagree on the use of the ‘n’ word. However, my absolute favorite part has to be when Jay taught Oprah how to rap. The meaning of giving back – Will.I.Am style

I haven’t seen this story all over the internet…figures…so I decided to do a post myself. Will.I.Am was on the Oprah show last week. He presented 4 young black males with 4 year scholarship money to the colleges of their choosing.

The 4 boys from Delaware; JaiQuann Beckham, Elijah Williams and brothers Barien and Darien White; will be attending Carbrini, Wilmington, Hampton, and Virginia Tech. What a kind, and beautiful gesture. I am so proud! Check below for the video! And go out and support the Black Eyed Peas! Their new album “The E-N-D” is in stores now!

MyTouch 3g Review….kinda…well, not really

For someone who is ‘functioning a touch screen phone’ challenged, it means A LOT for me to not only like this phone, but LOVE IT! My favorite part is having the 5 customizable home screens (originally comes with 3 but you can get an app to up it all the way to 7) on top of the widgets and the free apps. I’m not anti-iphone…who am I kidding…I am highly anti-iphone, but I still wanted a new up-to-date phone that was fun, cute, and could still function as a regular phone (which the iphone has problems doing). Don’t get me wrong, this is not an iphone killer, but it definitely serves its purpose as an all around fun and personal smart phone. It’s also light weight, but not cheap light weight. It feels good in the hands, and doesn’t show fingerprint smudges on the screen. There are also a ton of accessories and a whole website to customize your own special backing to the phone.

I’m not a technogeek and I can’t go into all of the functionality specs of the phone so if you want all of that you can go here. However if you want some cute pics, I got you! Check below! Well…what a surprise! We knew Jay Z was going to be in “O” magazine…but the actual show??? Wow…

Oprah, who seems smitten with Jay, called into the Gayle King Radio Show calling him her “new bestfriend.” She also said, “He was so charming and delightful and he smells so good.” She continued on, “I woke up at three in the morning thinking ‘maybe Jay emailed me!’” Woooooooooooow…she did say that it wasn’t about his music because of course she doesn’t agree with some of it, but she really likes him as a person….interesting…
